Insurance for the Future-Steger Teachers Win Grant Money

Devoted Steger Teachers from Eastview Elementary School, Parkview Elementary School and Columbia Central Jr. High School attended a ceremony to honor their hard work.

Each teacher was awarded a check for $2,500 to implement the creative learning opportunities they saw a need for.  Educators submitted a proposal outlining a special curriculum that would give their students an edge in learning that will last a lifetime.

We are proud to honor Kerri Husarik (Plant the Seeds of Knowledge), Amber Schaaf (Reading is Key), Heather Goetz, Melissa Lorenzatti (Building Creative Kids) and Holly Lopez (Bicycle for our Minds).

Thank America's Teachers is sponsored by Farmer's Insurance Company.  Jeff Sopko of Sopko Insurance Agency spoke to a crowded room acknowledging the difference great teachers make in the lives of their students and their communities.

What an exciting year this will be as these teachers can now implement new programs for the students of the Steger, Illinois Community. Many of the programs will be used for years to come.
